Recognizing World Down Syndrome Day

March 21st has been recognized by the United Nations as a day of celebration of World Down Syndrome Day (WDSD) since 2012. Its purpose is to educate the public about Down syndrome and the importance of valuing individuals with Down syndrome within their communities. WDSD is celebrated on the 21st day of the third month to represent the triplication (trisomy) of the 21st chromosome, which causes Down syndrome.

WDSD is a great opportunity to raise awareness!  Every year, the goal is to celebrate the community and spread awareness, acceptance, and inclusion. Find out more!
