I cannot say enough about our experience working with Liz Williams. She is the definition of "professional" but brings a gentle, encouraging, kind, positive quality that made my son's experience exemplary. This was our first real experience with speech therapy and Liz was so very thorough on how every aspect of the process would flow. She was so accommodating for both my child and for me. Since my son started a little older, Liz was very discreet so he could feel as comfortable as possible while being pulled from class. She was so encouraging during all of the sessions. He was recently reevaluated and has met all of the goals that had been set in place for him. I feel very good that Liz keeps her door open to her families so if at any point there is a concern or need for reevaluation, we have been encouraged to contact her.

Liz worked with our 8 year old for 7 weeks this past summer and in a very short period of time, her speech development and conversational skills exceeded our expectations. Liz has done an amazing job with our daughter. We have seen more progress in the time that our daughter has spent with Liz than with any other therapist that she has worked with. Liz approaches therapy in a playful way that not only engages our daughter but is also incredibly effective. Our daughter is very excited whenever we tell her that she is going to go "play" with Liz and she talks about what they did together for the rest of the day!

I called Liz when our seven-year-old son (who was then five and entering kindergarten) seemed to be consistently missing some milestones in his speech development. Liz was very flexible with her scheduling, and worked closely with my son’s school so that she could provide speech therapy at a convenient time during the school day. She quickly diagnosed the problem, and came up with a comprehensive but manageable program to address it. My son loved working with her, and we all appreciated her friendly and encouraging manner. My son’s speech improved so much more quickly than we or his teachers anticipated, and by the end of kindergarten, Miss Liz was satisfied that he no longer needed regular sessions. I can’t recommend her enough—she’s fantastic!

The Tidewater Speech Therapy Evaluation process was not only fun for my daughter but VERY thorough. I was given an extensive insight into where her speech development is at and where it should be. The best part is that she enjoys attending sessions every week. And, every week I can see that she is correcting her pronunciation at home just the way she's learned from her instructor.
