A Helpful Chart to Assist With Identifying Signs and Symptoms of Speech Sound Disorders

There are many ways your young child may change sounds, substitute one for another, leave out sounds, add sounds, or modify sounds. Others may have trouble understanding them. It's okay for them to do this when they are young. As they grow, it might become a problem if they continue to follow this path. Here is a helpful CHART from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association outlining the typical development of sounds in English-speaking children.
