As we wrap up Better Hearing and Speech Month, Tidewater Speech Therapy provides the last topic in this series to help raise awareness about communication disorders and available treatment options that can improve the quality of life for those who experience issues with speaking or hearing. Our focus this week is Summer Activities for Building Kids’ Language, Literacy, and Learning.

Children build many important skills through common daily activities like reading, outdoor play, and family quality time, so rest assured that this is time very well spent. The American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) offers this helpful LIST of everyday activities that kids can take advantage of in the summer that helps build language, literacy, and learning skills.
