In Honor of National Stuttering Awareness Week

This year National Stuttering Awareness Week was recognized during the week of May 10th. In honor of this very important week, we provided information to help celebrate, educate, and spread the word about stuttering! Below are the highlights from the information we shared.

More than 70 million people worldwide stutter, which is about 1% of the population. In the United States, that's over 3 million Americans who stutter.

Listen Patiently: When talking with a person who stutters, avoid finishing their sentences unless they invite you to do so. Keep eye contact and be patient – many people who stutter just need a little extra time to finish their sentences.
