How SLPs Help COVID-19 Survivors With Speech and Language Problems

May is Better Hearing and Speech Month, and Tidewater Speech Therapy is providing a series of topics to help raise awareness about communication disorders and available treatment options that can improve the quality of life for those who experience issues with speaking or hearing. Our focus this week is The Role of Health Care Speech-language pathologists (SLPs) in COVID-19 Recovery.

SLPs can help people with—or recovering from—COVID-19 who have speech communication challenges. These challenges may stem from a variety of COVID-19-related causes, including speech difficulties due to vocal cord damage from ventilator use or language problems from a COVID-19-related stroke. LEARN MORE about how SLPs help in these areas!
