May is one of our favorite months - it is Better Hearing and Speech Month! Established by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), this awareness month promotes public health education and access. This year’s theme is “Connecting People.”
Communication is our way of connecting to the world. We experience the world and connect with the people we love through hearing and communicating. Many people have difficulty communicating because of hearing loss or speech disorders. According to the CDC, 48 million Americans are affected by hearing loss, and one in ten has a communication disorder.
